Silk live, definitely a show not to miss.

Silk are a shoegaze / alternative rock band from Belfast who are starting to gain serious attention within the new UK and Irish shoegaze scene. Their sound blends huge walls of distorted guitars, floating dream pop atmospheres, and at times a heavier almost grunge-like energy. Some music media outlets and venues have even started describing their style as “heavy shoegaze.”

The band are currently touring around their debut EP Auralux, released in 2026. Tracks like “Clementine” and “Auralux” have especially helped the band gain attention across the indie and shoegaze scene.

One thing that constantly comes up in live reviews is how immersive they are on stage. Their shows are described as extremely loud but also deeply emotional, filled with massive reverb, layered guitars, and a genuinely hypnotic atmosphere. Their aesthetic can bring to mind bands such as:

…but with a more modern and abrasive edge.

They are also currently on a UK and Ireland tour supporting the release of Auralux, with dates announced in Belfast, Waterford, and various alternative venues across Britain.

Both visually and musically, Silk fit perfectly into the current shoegaze revival that has exploded over the past few years alongside bands like Hotline TNT, DIIV, and Glare. The scene has become huge again among younger audiences, driven by a mix of 90s nostalgia, alternative internet culture, and a highly cinematic aesthetic.
