With “Sounds Like A Deal,” Vancouver’s Alex Little delivers a sharp, unflinching anthem that turns outrage into art — a fusion of snarling garage energy, biting social critique, and hook-driven melody that announces her arrival as a formidable solo voice. Known previously for her work with Alex Little and the Suspicious Minds, Little now steps out entirely on her own, crafting music that is raw, melodic, and brimming with intent.

Produced by James Younger of Yukon Blonde, the track sets the tone for her upcoming EP Spider in the Sink. Its origin is as visceral as its sound — sparked by Little’s reaction to a documentary about The Jerry Springer Show and its exploitation of working-class lives for spectacle. “The poor treatment and exploitation of the people on the show was truly awful, and I needed to sing about it,” she explains. The result is a song that channels fury and empathy in equal measure, pairing punk immediacy with the polish of new wave and the grit of classic alt-rock.

The band behind her — Adam Sabla on guitar, Hayz Fisher on bass, and Tony Dallas on drums — translates her urgency into a tightly wound, electric performance. “Sounds Like A Deal” kicks with wiry riffs and driving percussion, each chord sharpened by Little’s unrelenting vocals. It’s the kind of song that demands volume — one that’s as infectious as it is defiant, as catchy as it is cutting.

Raised in the eclectic soundscape of Vancouver — between False Creek and Commercial Drive — Alex Little grew up in a household steeped in music. Her mother spun The Replacements and Bowie, her father played The Beatles and Iggy Pop, and she attended Roxy Music and Tom Jones shows before turning ten. Those influences collide vividly here: punk attitude meeting pop sensibility, grit balanced by grace. Having first sat behind the drum kit in high school before moving to front her own bands, Little embodies the perspective of a musician who’s seen the stage from every angle — and learned to own it completely.

Across the forthcoming Spider in the Sink, Little digs deeper into themes of fear, media manipulation, and personal reclamation — exploring how we rebuild ourselves after being broken down by the world’s noise. But “Sounds Like A Deal” is the spark that lights the fuse: a bold declaration from an artist who refuses to look away, refuses to stay quiet, and refuses to compromise.

With its mix of garage grit, melodic precision, and fearless honesty, “Sounds Like A Deal” is more than a single — it’s a manifesto for a new era of Alex Little.
