From the first seconds, H/A/C/K wastes no time. Guitars come in sharp and driving, locked tightly with a rhythm section that feels both controlled and ready to spill over. There is a physicality to the sound, something immediate and kinetic, like it was built for cramped rooms, sticky floors and stages barely big enough to hold the band.

Musically, the track sits at the intersection of melodic punk and ska-inflected urgency. You can hear echoes of Bad Religion in the precision and drive, flashes of Less Than Jake in the bounce and energy, and that distinctly Canadian lineage shaped by bands like The Flatliners. Yet Among Legends do not lean on these references. They use them as fuel, pushing toward something that feels lived-in and personal.

That tension comes from experience. Formed in 2016, the band built their identity the long way, through self-released EPs, endless shows and miles on the road. You can feel that history in H/A/C/K. It sounds like late-night drives on the 401, gear packed in the back, chasing the next gig. It sounds like fluorescent lights in a 24-hour roadside stop, exhaustion mixing with anticipation.

Production, handled by Matt Gauthier, keeps everything tight without smoothing out the grit. The track hits hard, but it still breathes. There is space for imperfections, for that slight fraying at the edges that makes everything feel more real, more immediate.

At its core, H/A/C/K is about impact. It does not overcomplicate its message or its structure. It is direct, urgent and unapologetic. A track built to move, to hit, to stay with you long after it ends.

As the lead single from their upcoming album Lose My Grip, it signals a shift. The band sounds sharper, more focused, and more willing to lean into the rawness that defines them.
