Emerging from Hackney, London, in 2021, Cheerless is a four-piece shoegaze band drawing inspiration from late '80s and early '90s influences. The group comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Charlie Wigglesworth, alongside Dan, James, and Harry. Their debut single, "Heat," released in 2022, garnered attention for its blend of squalling guitars and lush vocals.

In 2024, Cheerless continued to build their presence in the indie scene with the release of singles such as "003" and "Hammerlock." The latter, described as an "exhilarating testament to the band’s knack for weaving dreamy soundscapes with an undercurrent of urgency," served as a prelude to their self-titled debut EP, which was released on November 29, 2024.
The band has been active on the live circuit, embarking on a UK tour alongside fellow musicians Toothpaste in October 2024. This tour spanned cities from Brighton to Birmingham, offering fans the opportunity to experience Cheerless's dynamic energy firsthand.
