Here it is at last — Take Care Of Your Sadness, an 18-track retrospective that feels more like a quiet celebration than a greatest hits album. With this release, Michele Cingolani, the heart and soul behind Waving Blue, invites us into his world — a space where lo-fi beauty meets shoegaze melancholy, and the DIY ethic becomes an act of emotional resilience.

Born from the ashes of the Italian band Mesmerise (named in tribute to Chapterhouse), Waving Blue began as a personal project between friends — especially with fellow musician and longtime creative partner David Liso (aka Dynamo Stairs), who shaped not only the sound but the visual identity of the project. His influence — from sonic textures to artwork — runs through the veins of Take Care Of Your Sadness.

This compilation draws on fifteen years of music recorded in bedrooms, hallways, and quiet corners. Forget polished studios or high-end gear — the songs were crafted on a laptop with cheap pedals, freeware plugins, and an unwavering commitment to capturing emotion over perfection. Sometimes, it’s just Michele, a guitar, a cracked DAW, and a sleeping cat. That intimacy is what makes this album so moving.

There are two brand-new songs — “Together” and “Silent Song” — written specifically for this collection, but everything here glows with timeless warmth. The early material, once scattered across Bandcamp and pulled down due to self-doubt, now returns like old photographs rediscovered. The mix of shoegaze, dream pop, and indie-pop shimmers with nostalgia but never indulgence. Each song feels like a note passed between friends: delicate, sincere, unforgettable.

Released via the ever-passionate Shoredive Records, Take Care Of Your Sadness is also a tribute to the spirit of true independent music — away from algorithms, hype machines, and corporate noise. It’s a reminder that music made with honesty, however quietly, can resonate deeply.

Waving Blue might just be one guy in a room — but what he’s built is something vast, heartfelt, and quietly heroic. This compilation doesn’t shout. It doesn’t need to. It whispers truths about longing, memory, and creative endurance — and it leaves you grateful that someone hit “record.”
