New Fast Automatic Daffodils - Kitchen Demos

In the 90s, I was a big fan of a band called New Fast Automatic Daffodils. Recently, they released a compilation of their first two demo cassettes, which were originally recorded back in 1988 in a place called "The Kitchen" in Hulme. The Kitchen is famously known as the birthplace of Acid House in Manchester.

This compilation includes demo versions of the band's first three singles: "Lions," "Music is Shit (Pt1&2)," and a previously lost version of "Big," which was considered gone for the past 30 years but has now been rediscovered.

In addition to these singles, there are five other tracks on the compilation that were never released before. These songs were an essential part of the band's early live performances, shaping their early sets.

The artwork for the compilation features a fantastic woodcut by Joe McCullough. This artwork became iconic for New Fast Automatic Daffodils and was used on various items like T-Shirts, Flyers, and Posters during their early days.

this song is not part of the compilation but I can't resist :
