Shaki Tavi — Minor Slip
Released August 15, 2025 — Los Angeles, California
Indie Rock / Noise Rock / Shoegaze
Minor Slip is the first full-length album by Shaki Tavi, the Los Angeles–based project led by Leon Manson. Written and recorded during a period of deep creative burnout, the record reflects an artist stripping away expectations and reconnecting with music on the most personal level. Instead of aiming for polish or perfection, Manson focused on writing for himself — and that raw honesty is what gives Minor Slip its distinctive power.
Musically, the album thrives on contrasts. Heavy, distorted guitars and thunderous drums bring a fierce noise-rock intensity, yet woven throughout are beautiful, memorable melodies that reveal the shoegaze and indie roots of the project. At the center, Manson’s deep, commanding voice holds everything together, guiding the listener through a soundscape that feels both explosive and intimate.
The album’s title, Minor Slip, is more than just a phrase — it’s a statement of acceptance. It acknowledges that setbacks and missteps are part of the journey, and that sometimes it’s those very imperfections that open the door to something new. For Manson, the record became a lifeline, a way to move through uncertainty and transform difficulty into art.
The result is a debut that is raw, heartfelt, and unapologetically real — a work that captures the urgency of noise and distortion while never losing sight of melody, emotion, and survival through creativity.
