Slow Pulp, from Chicago.
This release came just before they embarked on their separate journeys with renowned groups, Death Cab For Cutie and Pixies. Now, they've unveiled news of their upcoming album, "Yard," set for a release by September's close. From this album, “Slugs” stands out, striking the right balance between understated and catchy.
Discussing "Slugs," Emily Massey of the band described it as capturing the essence of summer romances. She reflected on the emotional transitions that occur as relationships develop. "When diving into a relationship, there’s always this underlying uncertainty," she noted. Historically, Massey's relationships had an element of instability, making her wary. However, this recent experience presented a rare kind of comfort and security, allowing her to embrace the unpredictability that comes with love. She found beauty in the cyclical nature of romantic experiences, emphasizing the magic of first encounters and emotions.
